Swim
Taking your
kids swimming is a fail safe for cool parents, especially during the hot summer
months. The added benefit of swimming is that your kids will be exhausted after
only a few hours, giving you some peace and quiet, and time to yourself when
you get back home and they go down for a nap.

great way to get your kids learning before they go back to school is a medieval
jousting exhibit. You can find these in many cities around the U.S., as well as
at some renaissance festivals. These events typically include a meal, are
educational, and are thrilling for kids to watch. Your kids will love the
re-enactments of feudal times, and will learn a ton in the process.
